Disinfectant for inactivating pathogenic prions comprises selected (in)organic acids, anionic surfactants, nonionic surfactants and hydrotropes in an alcohol or glycol solvent
Disinfectant for inactivating pathogenic prions on surfaces, medical instruments and technical equipment and in contaminated liquids comprises selected (in)organic acids, anionic surfactants, nonionic surfactants and hydrotropes in an alcohol or glycol solvent. Disinfectant for inactivating pathogenic prions on surfaces, medical instruments and technical equipment and in contaminated liquids comprises: (a) an acid selected from sulfamic, phosphoric, formic, glyoxylic, acetic, propionic, lactic, malic, tartaric, citric and gluconic acids, cyclohexansulfamic acid, saccharin, nitrilotriacetic acid, EDTA, phosphonic acids and their alkali metal or ammonium salts; (b) an anionic surfactant selected from 8-18C alkylsulfonic acids, alkylarylsulfonic acids, 8-18C alkyl sulfates, alkyl ether sulfates and alkylaryl ether sulfates and their sodium, potassium or ammonium salts; (c) a nonionic surfactant selected from polyethylene glycol alkyl ethers with 3-11 ethylene oxide groups; (d) a hydrotrope selected from sodium, potassium or ammonium butyl monoglycol sulfate, cumenesulfonate, toluenesulfonate or xylenesulfonate; and (e) a solvent selected from 2-14C aliphatic alcohols and glycols.
