Computer tomography instrument has a detector system with alternating detector elements having a first large aperture (ap1) and a second small aperture (ap2). Measures are taken to ensure that the small aperture elements are used to obtain the highest possible spatial resolution. During recording of projections the focus of the radiation source is moved between first and second end positions.
