Determination of phytoplankton-growth-light relationship for laboratory and open land examinations using ICES (International Council for the Exploration of the Seas) incubator technique, comprises simulating turbulence, light gradients and light fluctuations, and providing near-natural nutrient supply and water movement as well as avoiding influence from global radiation and temperature fluctuations. An Independent claim is also included for an incubator (I) for the determination of phytoplankton growth-light relationship as above.
