Stable, non-sticky multi-phase sunscreen compositions contain a silicon-in-water emulsion containing a silicone oil and a polyether-modified polysiloxane and also a lipophilic or aqueous phase
Multi-phase cosmetic and/or dermatological sunscreen compositions contain a silicon-in-water emulsion which has more than 50 wt.% of silicone oil in the fatty phase and which includes polyether-modified polysiloxanes; a lipophilic or aqueous phase; and an (in)organic UV filter, there being 2, 3 or 4 phases with at least one not being transparent and/or translucent. Independent claims are also included for such a sunscreen composition produced by high pressure homogenization at 30-1500 (especially 750) bar or by a phase-inversion method involving: (a) production of a surfactant-free water-in-silicon emulsion containing a silicone oil, a polyether-modified polysiloxane and a nonionic emulsifier at above 60 degrees C; (b) tempering at below 60 (especially below 50) degrees C; and (c) adding below 5 (especially below 2) wt.% of a betaine, alkylpolyglycoside, amino acid derivative or quat. ammonium compound surfactant to cause phase inversion.
