Surface tension measurement method in which a liquid or solid with a calibration liquid are placed in a circular blunt cone that is rotated by a measurement motor whose torque is known and the liquid expansion measured
Method for measuring the surface tension in which the surface energy and surface increase are measured using a rotating blunt circular cone (2) in the narrow end of which a sample is placed. A measurement motor (1) is used to rotate the sample with a known torque. Wetting of the cone is measured directly or indirectly using a distance meter (4). The surface tension of a solid is measured using calibration liquids whose expansion relative to the rotating solid sample is measured.
