The reinforcing structure of motor vehicles is in the form a rear stiffening frame (2) which is an internal high pressure shaped component with a profile which is closed in cross section. The stiffening frame may be an open frame or encircling closed frame. The stiffening frame may be produced from a so-called tailored tubes process or tube-in-tube process. The frame may be constructed in one or several pieces.
