To identify diseases in animals and plants, plant or animal matter affected by the disease is impressed into a neutral material by a sample flow through it to give a sample for study. The absorbed sample, and a comparative sample of the neutral material are analyzed in the UV spectrum. The neutral material is water or protein. The animal sample is tear fluids. The comparative sample is derived by freezing and thawing the sample or using common salt.
