Sensor for determination of local optical properties of tissue has a series of transmitters (6) which can be regulated to irradiate the tissue with radiation of different wavelengths. The radiation scattered by the tissue is detected by photoreceptors (7) and signals sent via an interface (5) to a host for evaluation.
