摘要

Assembly to monitor and/or control a laser welding operation has a beam sensor (9) to receive beams (12) emerging from the processing zone (4) at the weld root, to give a beam image (10). The sensor can be coaxial to the welding beam (3), or at an angle to it. The received beam from the weld root is evaluated for intensity, position resolution and a number of beams can be evaluated separately.
