The method involves defining segments of different lengths in a ring resonator model depending on energy changes (A-),..) in the waveguide in passive and active segments and energy losses (B1,..) at possible interfaces in the optical filter, determining the wavelength-dependent electrical energy of the carried light waves in each segment, determining the coupling factors and optimizing the transmission function using a matrix formalism. AN Independent claim is also included for the following: (a) an optical filter manufactured in accordance with the inventive method of parameter determination.
