摘要
Epidemiological and clinical tests have shown that Alzheimer's disease (AD) is induced not only by a genetic disposition but also by an environmental factor, for example the diet of a person. At least one of these factors is the lack of sea fish, crustacea or mollusks. It may also be important that the latter are not overheated. The lack of sea fish etc. induces the disease since certain trace elements, for example arsenic and arsenic compounds, are accumulated to a much higher degree in sea fish and shellfish than in plants or terrestrial animals. A diet based solely on plants and terrestrial animals can thus result in a deficiency in arsenic or arsenic compounds. Arsenic or arsenic compounds are involved in the intraneuronal acetylcholine production. A lack of arsenic-based intracellular methylation results in a lack of acetylcholine which is typical of AD. Cold-water fish accumulate also iodine, vanadium and thallium, thereby having a preventive effect against cerebral dysfunctions. The content in 3-n fatty acids prevents circulatory disturbances and is also preventive of cerebral dysfunctions. Vitamin contents in fish are not higher than in other food. But even with an average content, the nutrition supplement according to the invention would be an effective preventive measure in 80 to 90 % of the known causes of cerebral dysfunctions when used by persons that do not like or do not receive seafood. The invention thus provides nutrition supplements and drugs on the basis of sea fish etc. (raw, dried and/or ultraheated) or arsenic and arsenic compounds for the prevention or treatment of a deficiency in arsenic and arsenic compounds and SDAT.
