PURPOSE: Provided are a composition comprising extract of grape seed having -glucosidase inhibitory activity, a method for manufacturing the same and use thereof. The composition inhibits -glucosidase and is thus useful for prevention and treatment of diabetes, obesity and other adult diseases. CONSTITUTION: A method for extract of grape seed comprises the steps of: drying and pulverizing grape seeds and adding 8-12 times of water thereto; extracting the pulverized grape seeds by stirring for 1-24 hours with adjusting pH vales to 8-11; adding strong acid to the extract to adjust pH values to 2-4 and centrifuging it to obtain precipitates; suspending the precipitates with 3-7 times of ethanol and concentrating the supernatant under reduced pressure; adding organic solvent to the concentrate , and followed by shacking, removal of hexane, purification and freeze-drying.
