Bacillus thuringiensis KFRI-2 which is isolated from Korean forest soil and had dual-toxicity to Lepidoptera and Diptera and microbial insecticide containing the same
PURPOSE: Provided are Bacillus thuringiensis KFRI-2 which is isolated from Korean forest soil and has dual-toxicity to Lepidoptera and Diptera and a microbial insecticide containing the same as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION: The Bacillus thuringiensis KFRI-2(KCTC 18076P) contains a new gene composition of endotoxin proteins thus shows toxicity to Plutella xylostella, Spodoptera exigua and Culex pipiens. It is also cultured on an equality with Bacillus thuringiensis kurstaki HD-1 strain. Therefore, the novel strain, Bacillus thuringiensis KFRI-2(KCTC 18076P), has both advantages of Bacillus thuringiensis kurstaki HD-1 and Bacillus thuringiensis aizawai, and is thus useful as an insecticide.
