PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a microporous chlorinated poly (vinyl chloride) membrane using poly (vinyl pyrrolidone) is provided to obtain a membrane for microfiltration with high flux rate due to increased interconnectivity. CONSTITUTION: The method includes the steps of dissolving a chlorinated poly (vinyl chloride) into tetrahydrofuran (THF); adding 1 to 30 wt.% of alcohol and 0.5 to 2.5 wt.% of poly vinyl pyrrolidone (based on the total polymer weight) to above solution; impregnating a nonwoven fabric in above polymer solution; and drying it at 20 to 25 deg.C and relative humidity of 45 to 90%. The obtained microporous chlorinated poly (vinyl chloride) membrane has a porosity of 40 to 87%, pore size distribution of 0.5 to 10 m and a flux rate of 2000 to 8000 LMH.
