PURPOSE: A method for reproducing information in an optical disk device is provided to watch a broadcasting signal received through a tuner as a main image, and to simultaneously watch a caption image read from an optical disk. CONSTITUTION: If a user requests an optical disk(10) to be played while the optical disk(10) is inserted, a microcomputer(15) controls an operation of a decoder(13) such that the decoder(13) can decode an MPEG data stream of a video and an audio read from the optical disk(10) into original video and audio data. The decoder(13) decodes an MPEG data stream of a subtitle read from the optical disk(10) into original subtitle data. A D/A converter(14) converts the decoded video and audio data and the subtitle data into analog video and audio and subtitle signals.
