OPTICAL PICKUP, AN OPTICAL RECORDING AND/OR REPRODUCING APPARATUS AND A COMPATIBLE TRACKING REALIZING METHOD, CONCERNED WITH REALIZING A COMPATIBLE TRACKING SERVO BASED ON THE IMPROVED PUSH-PULL METHOD
PURPOSE: An optical pickup, an optical recording and/or reproducing apparatus and a compatible tracking realizing method are provided to detect a tracking error signal by an improved push-pull method with the use of detection signals of a main light and the second sub lights. CONSTITUTION: At least one optical splitter(40) splits into at least 4 sub lights including a main light emitted from a light source(31), the first two sub lights relatively near to the main light, and the second two sub lights relatively far away from the main light, and irradiates the split lights on an optical information storage medium(30). At least one optical detection device(80) receives the main light and the sub lights reflected from the medium(30). A main optical detector receives the main light. One pair of the first sub optical detectors receive the first sub lights. One pair of the second sub light optical detectors receive the second sub lights.
