SEALING APPARATUS OF CATERPILLAR TRACK ROLLER WITH SEALING O-RING MOUNTED TO INCLINED SURFACE OF FLOATING SEAL BETWEEN ROLLER SHELL AND ROLLER SUPPORT
PURPOSE: A sealing apparatus of a caterpillar track roller is provided to prevent leak of lubricant and to restrict inflow of foreign matters such as earth and sand by maintaining the surface pressure on the sealing contact surface of inner and outer floating seals with elastic force of plural O-rings mounted between a roller shell and a roller support. CONSTITUTION: A sealing apparatus of a caterpillar track roller comprises sealing O-rings mounted in inclined surfaces(4,11) of floating seals(6,9) installed between a roller shell rotated and mounted to a bushing and a roller shaft. The O-ring is composed of a first O-ring(12) mounted in the inclined surface of the floating seal to contact a sealing contact surface(10) of the floating seal with elastic force, and a second O-ring(13) mounted in the upper part of the floating seal to form the surface pressure in the upper part of the sealing contact surface. Inflow of foreign matters into the inclined surface of the floating seal is restricted by the second O-ring, and rust is prevented by maintaining the surface roughness of the inclined surface.
