RECORDING DEVICE, A REPRODUCING DEVICE AND A FILE MANAGING METHOD, ESPECIALLY IN RELATION TO MORE IMPROVING MANEUVERABILITY WHEN MANAGING PLURAL FILES RECORDED ON A RECORDING MEDIUM BY AN INDEX FILE
PURPOSE: A recording device, a reproducing device and a file managing method are provided to set information showing a relation between entries in an index file by entry continuity, and to manage plural files recorded on a recording medium by the index file, thereby more improving maneuverability. CONSTITUTION: An index file generator prepares an index file of files recorded on a recording medium, by entry continuity in accordance with extract information related to the files. The index file generator shows a mutual relation between entries, and sets information showing a reproduction sequence of the entries or the files corresponding to the entries in the index file. The index file generator sets the reproduction sequence within a group of an entry selected from the entries disposed in the index file.
