PURPOSE: A spheroidizing annealing method is provided which is capable of rapidly softening medium carbon steel in a short time by maintaining the medium carbon steel for a certain time in a section where carbide is grown fast and rapidly cooling the medium carbon steel in other section in the cooling step of the medium carbon steel. CONSTITUTION: In a method for spheroidizing annealing medium carbon steel which contains 0.20 to 0.60 wt.% of carbon, and fine structure of which is consisted of ferrite and pearlite, the spheroidizing annealing method for rapidly softening medium carbon steel comprises a step of maintaining the heated medium carbon steel for 2 to 3 hours after heating the medium carbon steel to a temperature of Ac1 to Ac3; a step of maintaining the first cooled medium carbon steel for 2 to 4 hours after first cooling the medium carbon steel to a temperature of 705 to 715 deg.C in a cooling rate of 30 to 200 deg.C/hr; and air cooling the second cooled medium carbon steel after second cooling the medium carbon steel to a temperature of 650 to 680 deg.C in a cooling rate of 30 to 200 deg.C/hr.
