PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for damping a reflection wave of a water surface for detecting an object in a shallow sea environment are provided to prevent signal distortion due to the reflection wave of the water surface by installing a plurality of sound sensors so as to form a beam having a small ellipse. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus(100) for damping a reflection wave of a water surface for detecting on objection in a shallow sea environment includes an array sound sensor(110), a transformer(120), a pressure sensor(130), and a microcomputer(140). The array sound sensor(110) is formed by means of a plurality of sound sensors(111) in a circular form and generates a sound wave having intensity corresponding to intensity of a voltage applied from the transformer(120). The number of the transformer(120) corresponds to the number of sound sensors(111) of the array sound sensor(110). Also, the transformer(120) applies a voltage to each sound sensor(111) under the control of the microcomputer(140).
