PURPOSE: A multi-level refrigeration method for high-temperature superconductivity is provided to reduce the maintenance cost by reducing power consumption. CONSTITUTION: A high temperature superconducting device is operated within a temperature range of high-temperature superconductivity from 20 to 80 K. A first heat transfer unit is cooled under the first temperature which exceeds the temperature of saturated liquid nitrogen. The cooled first heat transfer unit is warmed by intercepting the circulation of the ambient heat to the high-temperature superconducting device. A second heat transfer unit is cooled under the second temperature within the temperature range of the high-temperature superconductivity. The cooled second heat transfer unit is warmed to maintain the high-temperature superconducting device within the temperature range of the high-temperature superconductivity.
