WOBBLE DEMODULATION DEVICE AND AN WOBBLE DEMODULATION METHOD, PARTICULARLY RELATED TO DEMODULATING DIGITAL INFORMATION BY DETECTING AND DEMODULATING A WOBBLE SIGNAL FROM AN OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM WHERE THE DIGITAL INFORMATION IS RECORDED, BY FORMING AN MSK-MODULATED WOBBLE ON A TRACK
PURPOSE: A wobble demodulation device and a wobble demodulation method are provided to detect an MSK(Minimum Shift Keying) modulation mark to prevent a detection position of the MSK modulation mark from being shifted when a wobble signal is transformed, thereby obtaining exact position information while improving an address reproduction performance. CONSTITUTION: A wobble track is MSK-modulated on an optical recording medium(101). An optical head(102) irradiates an optical beam on the optical recording medium(101), detects an amount of reflected light from the medium(101), and outputs an electrical signal. A wobble signal detector(103) extracts an MSK-modulated wobble signal from the electrical signal. A carrier signal generator(104) generates a carrier signal phase-synchronized with the wobble signal. A multiplier(105) multiplies the wobble signal by the carrier signal. An MSK detector(106) detects an MSK modulation mark based on the multiplied output. An MSK synchronization detector(107) detects a bit synchronization position from an MSK detection signal. A decoder(108) decodes digital information based on the multiplied output.
