CONCENTRATOR FOR DISTRIBUTING WIRELESS COMMUNICATION IN COMPUTER COMMUNICATION NETWORK AND METHOD THEREFOR - THE CONCENTRATOR PROVIDES A BRIDGE FUNCTIONALITY FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATION. THE BRIDGE FUNCTIONALITY IS A PROCESS FOR DECIDING HOW THE WIRELESS COMMUNICATION IS ROUTED THROUGH HARDWIRED CONNECTION AND A WIRELESS DOMAIN ASSOCIATED WITH A DISTRIBUTION ACCESS SYSTEM
PURPOSE: A concentrator for distributing wireless communication in a computer communication network is provided to overcome defects which existing technology has had while maintaining merits associated with computer communication networks consisting of a wireless communication apparatus for transmitting/receiving wireless communication to/ from a wireless client access subsystem and a communication network, and a central protocol processor for offering a bridge functionality to the wireless communication. CONSTITUTION: A CPP(Central Protocol Processor)(144) of a concentrator subsystem(140) performs a bridge functionality for wireless communication received through a packet communicator(142) and a switch connector(146). The concentrator subsystem(140) can be wirelessly connected to a wireless client access subsystem(130), and is connected to a hub/switch(150) through a wire, so that the CPP(144) can perform a protocol conversion between a wireless protocol and a wired protocol. The packet communicator(142) transmits and receives wireless communication between the concentrator subsystem(140) and the wireless client access subsystem(130) through hardwired connection.
