The invention relates to an arrangement to strip unwantedmatter from belt bands (2) in conveyor belt installations inthe region of a driving and/or direction-changing roller (3)of the belt band, comprising a systems support (4) which isattached to a supporting structure for the belt band and onwhich at least one stripping member (5) is arranged. Eachstripping member comprising a scraper blade (17; 48) which isattached to a support (16; 49), which scraper blade, in theready-to-operate position, abuts against the belt band (2) ina peeling fashion. The stripping member comprises a torsionspring joint (25) on which the blade support is guided in aspring-loaded manner and so as to pivot about a horizontal axissuch that, when the scraper blade encounters obstacles whichrigidly adhere to the belt band, it can pivot away andsubsequently again pivot back into the working position on thebelt band. In this regard, the blade support (16; 49) ispivotally supported by a pivot bearing (20a; 50) having alimited pivot angle, such that the scraper blade (17; 48) whichabuts against the belt band (2) can adjust to changes ininclination of the belt band (2) in the immediate contactregion of the scraper blade (17; 48) by pivoting automatically.The torsion spring joint (25) is attached to a plug-in means(26) which is arranged in a holding means (27a, 27b) which isattached to the systems support (4). The longitudinal axis (28)of the plug-in means (26) intersects the belt band (2) at apoint which, in the direction of rotation of the roller (3),is disposed upstream of the contact line (S) of the scraperblade (17; 48).
