The proposed method for validating the selection of the first exploratory well at a predicted nonanticlinal geological object in prospecting hydrocarbon deposits consists in employing a method of the geometric interpretation of the deposit prediction model, and determining, by using the model that describes the relative position of water-bearing and oil-bearing seams, the dependence of the predicted hydrocarbon supplies on the relative position of the said seams, computing the parameters of the oil-bearing seam profile, and determining the location of the well so that a minimal distance from the well to the screening breakdown will be provided.
