The method for the intraoperative visualization and identification of parathyroid glands and cervical nerve structures provides for the topical application of the solution comprising 1% ethanol solution of methylene blue, dimexid, and saline solution. The parathyroid glands and cervical nerve structures are visualized and identified according to the altered staining of the corresponding structures. The nerve structures are identified by pale blue staining, while gray-green staining with the distinct vascular pattern points to the parathyroid glands.
