PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stainless steel for large structure, with which toughness and corrosion resistance in weld zone equal to or higher than those of expensive conventional steel (SUS 304 steel) can be obtained in the case where metal active gas welding is applied to the stainless steel by using shielding gas containing 50% gaseous CO2 in particular.;SOLUTION: The stainless steel has a composition consisting of, by mass, 0.0025-0.03% C, 0.0025-0.03% N, 0.1-2.0% Si, 0.5-2.0% Mn, 0.04% P, 0.03% S, 8.0-15.0% Cr, 0.01-0.5% V and the balance essentially Fe with inevitable impurities.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
