PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium which dispenses with time and labor and apparatuses for manually inputting an identification number, reading a bar code, etc., and is free from the erasure and tampering of the identification number recorded in the optical recording medium.;SOLUTION: The pit string of the optical recording medium is partially destroyed to make it impossible to restore the pit string by a reproducing apparatus, and a prescribed code is recorded in the optical recording medium by the combination or distribution of the destroyed pit string 52 and an undestroyed pit part 54, thereby the identification information characteristic of the optical recording medium is recorded and the identification information is read in the case of reproduction. Further, it is a desirable mode to record also a program for reading the identification information characteristic of the optical recording medium in the optical recording medium.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
