PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject food indispensably containing an extract of a plant belonging to the genus of Murraya, capable of simply preventing and removing a bad breath by daily oral ingestion, extremely high in safety to the human body, and capable of ingesting even to an infant without a fear. SOLUTION: This food for preventing and removing a bad breath indispensably contains an extract of a plant belonging to the genus of Murraya. As the plant belonging to the genus of Murraya, Murraya paniculata Jack or Murraya koenigii Spreng are preferable. Also, the leaves of the plant belonging to the genus of Murraya are preferably used as a starting material. For the extraction, a polar solvent such as water, methanol is preferably used for their high extracting efficiency. Isomahanine of formula I, murrayanol of formula II and/or mahanine of formula III are also preferably blended as active ingredients. Further, since mercaptans produced by microorganisms in an oral cavity can not completely be removed by the above extract, extracts of a tea, a rosemary, etc., can preferably be blended as sub-components.
