PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a router which keeps constant the transmission spacing of sound packets on an IPv6 network where the sound packets mix with data packets.;SOLUTION: The router 1 connects a transmission line to IPv6 communication terminals provided in a communication system for connecting the IPv6 communication terminals through the transmission line. Further, the router 1 comprises a function 16 for analyzing packets to be sent to opposed routers to detect the existence of VoIP sound packets, a function 13 for setting an "IPv6 over IPv4 tunnel" between the opposed routers, and a function 14 for capsuling other packets than VoIP sound packets with IPv4 packets to fragment the packets at an IPv4 level and flow them onto the "IPv6 over IPv4 tunnel", when the VoIP sound packets exist. This suppresses the delay or the fluctuation of the sound packets in an IPv6 communication, if the sound packets mix with packets of long data lengths.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
