PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the screening of an agent for the treatment of male pattern alopecia based on the molecular biological mechanism of male pattern alopecia and provide an agent for the treatment of male pattern alopecia.;SOLUTION: The screening method contains a step to select an agent for the treatment of male pattern alopecia from treating agent candidate compounds by using an activity inhibition against at least one substance selected from active TGF-β1 and TGF-β1 activation factor.
