PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bipolar battery capable of preventing overcharge of a unit cell layer, and allowing each unit cell layer to be charged without dispersion. PSOLUTION: In this bipolar battery 30, the bipolar battery 30 is composed by stacking, by interposing electrolyte layers 4, bipolar electrodes 10 each composed by forming a positive electrode active material layer 2 on one surface of a collector 1 and by forming a negative electrode active material layer 3 on the other surface thereof; the material layer 2 contains spinel lithium manganate as a changing electrode active material; and the material layer 3 contains lithium titanate as an unchanging electrode active material. The changing electrode active material has a characteristic significantly increasing voltage as compared with that before reaching the charge capacity (charging rate 100%) of the changing electrode active material when nearly reaching the charge capacity in charging. The unchanging electrode active material has a characteristic changing the voltage at a rate of change equivalent to that before reaching the charge capacity (charging rate 100%) of the changing electrode active material even when reaching the charge capacity in charging.
