PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily correct to reference length when arc length during welding deviates from the reference length.;SOLUTION: The device for assisting manual welding is composed of so as to obtain optical information with an arc information obtaining means 23, compare the optical information with reference arc length, generate an indication with a voice generation means 26, such as a receiver, whether actual arc length deviates from the reference arc length, and inform a welder 15 of an indication. Thereby, the welder 15 can correct the position of a welding torch 12 on the basis of a voice command, an unskilled welder can also maintain welding quality equivalent to that of a skilled welder, and the unskilled welder can be trained with the device.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
