PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-color film forming process for a single piece type color filter by which the problem of dynamic balancing and tolerable strength occurring when a conventional filter rotates at high speed is avoided, time and effort required for manufacturing is decreased and stability and accuracy of the filter is improved. PSOLUTION: The a multi-color film forming process for a single piece type color filter comprises: (I) preparing a substrate being a disk having a central hole and a ring-shaped exposure surface part extending between the central hole and the outer periphery part of the disk, preparing a plurality of masking plates each of which has the same same size as that of the substrate, is provided with a positioning hole at its center portion and formed with at least a sector-shaped notch part at a portion corresponding to the exposure surface part, and superposing one of the masking plates on the substrate; (II) forming film by color material from above the masking plate on a sector-shaped region of the exposure surface part of the substrate exposed to the sector-shaped notch part to make a filter part; (III) removing the masking plate from the substrate; and (IV) repeating the steps (I) to (III) by using another masking plate to form the filter plates so that the filter plates are adjacent to each other.
