PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily estimating a parameter indicating a condition of a monitoring object, a method for monitoring the condition of the monitoring object by using the parameter, a parameter estimating device, a condition monitoring device, a condition monitoring system, a computer program, and a recording medium.;SOLUTION: The condition monitoring device stores a time series {xn} comprising N pieces of data indicating the condition of the monitoring object, an estimate {en} of white noise, and a parameter θN of an ARMA model estimated from the time series. When an N+1th piece of data of the time series is received (S3), on the basis of an arithmetic expression with calculation simplified by using a priori knowledge, an estimate θN+1 of a parameter estimated from a time series with N+1 pieces of data is calculated (S7), a difference between θN+1 and θN is calculated (S8), and determination of the condition of the monitoring object is carried out (S9).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
