PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a denitrification material for removing underwater nitrate nitrogen wherein sulfur of a main material and carbonate are integrated, and to recycle a nonstandardized product generated in a production process or used product as the denitrification material with a high denitrification efficiency.;SOLUTION: The nonstandardized product generated in the production of the denitrification material and/or used denitrification material are crushed, and used at least as a part of the main material. The main material is integrated with a binder to form into a predetermined grain size or shape, and to be a denitrification material capable of maintaining the shape in the water. It is preferable that the combination amount of the binder is 0.1-30 wt%, and the integration by the binder is performed by granulation, coating to a carrier or press molding. It is also preferable that the recycled denitrification material is a porous body having one or more through holes with a hole diameter of ≥2 mm and the void rate (the volume of hollow section/the apparent whole volume) of 20-90 volume percent, and a plate shape coated on the carrier or the plate shape press-molded at a temperature higher than the sulfur melting point.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
