PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earthquake-resisting reinforced extension method of a building and an earthquake-resisting reinforced extension building, extending a medium-story building such as stair hall-type apartment house to a high rise building while residents live therein, and modifying an existing building designed on the basis of the former earthquake-resisting standard to a high rise building satisfying new earthquake-resisting standard with extension.;SOLUTION: In this extension method, a base isolation foundation for the high rise building is newly disposed on the outside of the foundation of the existing medium story building, support members are erected on the newly disposed base-isolation foundation and subsequently the support members are used to form a new living floor above the existing building, thereby extending the medium story building to the high rise building. In the method, after the completion of the new living floor, an upper layer floor of the existing medium story building is knocked down and removed to sequentially remodel the remaining floors.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
