PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a primer pair for detecting Escherichia coli and Bacillus dysentericus and to provide a method for preparing a primer pair for detecting one or more specific kinds of target bacteria or the primer pair.;SOLUTION: The method for preparing a species-specific primer or the primer pair comprises a first process for selecting a DNA fragment which is found commonly in a specific kind of a bacterium but not found in other kinds of bacteria among DNA fragments amplified by a PCR method using a primer having amplification probability in which a single DNA fragments and proper number of kinds of DNA fragments are amplified, a second process for determining sequences of a part or the whole of the fragments selected by the first process and a third process for designing a new primer pair from the sequences determined by the second process.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
