The jewel (1) includes a support (3) in which is mounted at least one stone (2). The support includes a cylindrical body (9) with lugs (11,12) on opposing sides, with one lug (12) mounted on an elastically deformable arm (13). The arm elastically deforms as a tapered part (4) of a cut stone is inserted into the support so that the lugs engage in notches in the edge of the stone below the cut edge (8), to non-visibly hold the stone in place.
