Method for adjusting adjustable shock absorbers of a motor vehicle suspension system. Accordingly to the method: vehicle operating states are stored; adjustment values for the shock absorbers are individually calculated for each operating state and suspension unit; and when a certain vehicle state is detected, the individual calculated values are averaged and applied either for pairs of suspension units or for all four suspension units.
