PURPOSE: To surely detect the presence/absence of burst signals even when a reception electric field level is small and to perform synchronization at a high speed even for a short preamble pattern. ;CONSTITUTION: First and second phase storage parts 4a and 5a respectively store the timewisely consequent output phase values of a phase counter 22 as first and second phase values. A center phase calculation part 6a calculates a first center phase value from the first and second phase values and a center phase storage part 7a stores the first center phase value of a previous time as a second center phase value. An approximation detection part 8a judges whether or not the first and second center phase values are approximated and outputs approximation detection signals when they are approximated. A frequency discrimination part 20 discriminates whether or not data signals are provided in input signals based on the detection frequency of the approximation detection signals for zero-cross detection signals calculated in a frequency calculation part 17.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
