The gear selector has a selector lever (1) which with regard to structure-borne noise is decoupled from both the selector fork (9) of the selector rod (2) and bearing bolt (12) which connects the selector lever and rod. This achieved by axial and radial gaps (21,22,23) and non-metallic support rings (24,25), each of which is accommodated in the transverse through-bore (4) in the selector lever bearing eye (3) on one end and pressing indirectly against the inside face (10,11) of the adjacent fork side cheeks (7,8) and seated upon a sleeve (26,27) encompassing the shank (13) of the bearing bolt.
