Mutual coupling reduction method for phased array antenna system, involves providing circumferential conductor exclusively around each planar antenna element, and connecting conductor to ground reflector through ground posts
The planar antenna elements (10) are positioned adjacent to one another in phased array configuration. A circumferential conductor (14) is provided around each element in a common plane, and spaced from the elements at an outer perimeter, so that conductor portion for each element is common to the conductor of adjacent elements. The conductor is grounded by a ground plane reflector (16) through ground posts (18).
