Drive for a rotating cylinder (14) of a printing machine that cooperates with a further rotating cylinder (4) and has rotating parts that form a magnetic circuit for generating a drive moment in a circumferential direction (26). The magnetic circuit is linked to a further magnetic circuit that generates static support forces. The rotating parts have contact sections that interact with the magnetic circuits so that a control device (22) can control the position of the cylinder with respect to the other cylinder.
