Reservoired water enters the gate to reach a gate tank complete with bottom outlet fitted with a device to control the hydraulic pressures at the outlet. This device consists of a float (9) which controls pressure as function of the water level in the gate tank. The float acts directly on a valve in turn responsible for closing the inlet. The float is spherical or cone-shaped. The outlet of the tank is held at constant pressure by means of the float-operated valve and the gate (1) is composed of a foot (1) and outlet pipe (3) with the valve to close or open the entry (7) to the tank (13). The float sits in a cage (8) connected to the feed pipe (7) through the cage top opening (11), assisted by cage perforations (12). Outlet pipe (3) is fitted with a shutter or choke (14).
