The storage space (12) lies within the housing (2) exclusively axially next to the pressure tube (3a,3b) and the hydraulic fluid displaced by the piston rod (5) reaches space (12) via the annular gap (32) between sleeve (4a,4b) and housing (2). The sleeve is positively fitted into the housing and is spirally grooved (10) along its inside casing surface. The pressure tube has holes (8a) of varying diameter, one hole directed towards the control face of the groove (10) and expanding towards this face in wedge shape.
