Medical image data presentation method in which volume elements of a volume data set can be viewed by an interactive user in 3-D format and then presented from a selected view point in 2-D format
Method for presentation of a volume element (8) of a volume data set in which each volume element is assigned a position (x, y, z) in space and a data value. An interactive user generates a 2-D representation of the volume element which is displayed on a monitor. To this end the user inputs a projection command and a focal point (24). The computer uses the focal point to generate a 2-D perspective projection and output it to the monitor. The invention also relates to a corresponding computer program product.
