摘要
Making small-diameter tubular moldings from hot extruded plastic tubing using recirculating mold chain comprises sealing during continuous molding. Sealing takes place on initial introduction of the tubing into the mold pair chain (2, 3). A nip jaw seals the plastic tube, moving radially with respect to its long central axis. Molding jaws are identical pairs, the same size being fitted throughout the recirculating chains. The nip jaws are mounted to move against spring-loading pressing them away from the tube. Pneumatic, hydraulic or motorized force causes this movement, when nipping. The mold jaw pair carrying the nip jaw is made without a molding profile. When not operated, the nip jaw is beyond molding engagement with the plastic tubing. The mold jaw pair carrying the nip jaw is profiled, e.g. corrugated. With the nip jaw inoperative, it molds the plastic material.
