Producing and maintaining a two- or three-dimensional curve in a rod or band of super-elastic, monocrystalline copper alloy comprises; heating the rod to a bending temperature of 700 - 900 deg C; pressing it into a mold which is simultaneously heated to at most the bending temperature; removing the rod and cooling it to room temperature; reheating it to 750 - 900 deg C for at least 1 hour; and quenching. An Independent claim is included for a superelastic component.
