The safety dividing wall for a road tunnel with counterposed traffic divides the tunnel into two independent passages for the traffic route. The dividing wall excludes to a considerable extent the mixture of exhaust gases, smoke and fresh air from one passage to another. The wall is fire-resistant and light-impermeable. It is made of trapezoidally corrugated plates, which are fixed to the ground and the ceiling. The dividing wall is resistant to bending and by means of guide planks prevents frontal collision of the counter traffic in the divided passages. It is positively held to teh ground and/or the ceiling by stable U-shaped steel profiles, using bore holes and bolts or screws. It has suitably spaced through passage hatches, particularly usable by life-saving entities in the event of an accident.
